Melbourne Food Tour with QV

FOOD NEWS / 25-10-2017

Showing off Melbourne as the food capital of Australia, was met with awe by these culinary experts from Heartn’ Tree Cooking School in Hokkaido, Japan.

They were really amazed the multi-cultural diversity of cuisines that make up our food scene.

With a flat white from Market Lane Coffee in hand, we start this great tour at Queen Victoria Market. Exploring the food hallways of this iconic building, they really enjoyed delicious Greek dips, freshly opened oysters and warm-from-the-oven Turkish pastries.

However, I would say that the red wine marinated kangaroo at Chicken Pantry was their absolute favourite. This was all that they had envisaged and more!

Then, there was the exploring and sampling the food delights in the laneways and arcades, Chinatown and the Italian precinct of Melbourne’s CBD. The handmade chocolates at Ganache were a great hit.

Of course, let’s not forget the Spring Street cheeseroom and gelato counter.

What a way to finish this exploration of Melbourne's fascinating multicultural culinary society.
